Character information.
Character name: Letha Isidora Regis
Canon: Original Character
Canon point: After marrying Aristeo, but before becoming pregnant.
Age: 16
OC world information: Letha's backstory and some concise world info.

Abilities: (These will probably not work in-game, but here they are.)
- Communing: Letha can speak to the dead. Within roughly five feet of a human body she can speak to them and hear their responses, and within the same distance she can hear dead animals occasionally make noises. She cannot break language barriers with this ability.
- Netherworld: Letha can enter and leave a comatose state at will, allowing her to enter the land of the dead known as the Netherworld. During this time she cannot know anything that is happening to her body, but she can call upon anyone who is dead or similarly death-walking and communicate with them.
- Reanimation: Letha can split off a small part of her soul and house it in a human corpse, allowing her to reanimate and control it. This requires focus and is extremely dangerous; if she loses control without ending the connection correctly, the corpse will remain animated and fly into a frenzied rage. Animated corpses have inhuman strength and do not get tired, although Letha can get tired from working with them. If she has lost control, the bones must be destroyed to stop their rampage.

Strengths:
- Clever: While she isn't the most in-touch with her common sense, Letha is a very intelligent woman for her age. She has a good memory, a love for logic and is generally curious to a fault. Combined with a reckless thirst for knowledge, she makes quite the junior detective.
- Brave: Although it's often mistaken for recklessness, Letha is definitely brave and willing to put herself in danger if she feels the cause is worthy. She is rarely shaken by the unknown and instead reacts to potential threats with a chipper attitude and a heap of optimism. She would argue that a reckless person does into danger not knowing they may get hurt; she goes in knowing full well, and not caring.
- Compassionate: This isn't something that would spring to mind upon meeting her, but Letha is a genuinely kind person at her core. She may not know how best to treat others, but she has good intentions and doesn't believe in hurting anything that doesn't deserve it. She particularly believes in going out of her way to find dead bodies and speak to them - they must be lonely, and that's just very sad.
Weaknesses:
- Stubborn: Above all else, Letha is an extremely proud creature. She might accept it gracefully after the fact, but convincing her that she's made a mistake is a job in and of itself. She is often motivated by spite, blinded by her personal feelings and extremely adverse to self-introspection. She was spoiled rotten as a child, and it shows through when push comes to shove.
- Hot-headed: Letha tries to keep her emotions almost frigidly level, but it creates a sort of pressure that can burst unexpectedly. When pushed too far Letha tends to fly into a manic rage - she may stab or break nearby objects, throw things at walls and sling verbal abuse at whoever set her off. Or whoever is close enough to target. These episodes tend to be followed by sobbing, apologies and laying in bed until she can get her act together and pretend they never happened.
- Paranoid: Having grown up sheltered and under-socialized, Letha never learned how to express her feelings in a healthy manner. She is meek and emotional, but hides under a facade of cheerful indifference. When she trusts someone enough her guard may drop, and they might see that she is actually quite clingy and emotionally needy. She frets constantly about the people she cares about becoming bored of her, or hard to talk to. She wants everyone's attention and isn't sure how to get it, and the thought she might not be able to persuade someone to like her is enough to bring her to tears.

Nightmares:
- Shades: Shades are the rotten remains of living souls who became trapped in the land of the dead. They resemble ghosts, translucent and shimmering. But their clothing is ragged, their hair is matted, and their skin is stretched thin and broken over their grubby bones. They do not attack but they do linger eerily, muttering fragments of memories and seeming to be in a constant state of confusion.
- Risen: The risen are, in simple terms, zombies. Risen are generally created when a fragment of a living soul possesses a human corpse, though animal risen are not unheard of. Without a master at the wheel, risen become mindless killing machines with inhuman strength and endless endurance - the only way to be safe is to destroy the bones so badly that they cannot pull themselves back together again. Unlike zombies, risen do not require flesh or a brain; even a bare skeleton can be reanimated.
- Direfoxes: Though not a magical creature, the Direfox is extremely dangerous even to magicians. It has the speed and agility of its smaller cousins, but easily reaches 3 feet at the shoulder and is known to have nearly impenetrable fur. They have mottled gray fur with black tails, legs, faces and ears. Their eyes range from amber to bright gold. The safest action to take is to sneak away before one sees you.
