Letha isn't of noble birth, but one would be hard-pressed to convince any member of her family of that. The clan of necromancers to which she belongs owns a town by the name of Thornwell, in an in-universe equivalent to western England. While Letha showed promise as a necromantic warrior when she was young, she also showed a knack for sticking her nose where it didn't belong that led to the elder council marrying her off to keep her busy.
At first, she didn't get along with her arranged husband at all. But close proximity and a sense of duty took hold, and they became inseparable. That is, until Letha was killed in a fire. Killed while visiting the afterlife, which led to her soul rotting instead of dying properly. She ceased to exist, leaving her husband to mourn her and eventually get himself exiled rather than remarry.

Letha is generally played from before or shortly after her death (before she has a chance to rot), but may be AU'd into different post-mortem states at the will of the involved muns.
